- What is the supported environment for this application?
- Is this software free?

- How can I reach you for assistance when I need help?
No. It doesn't run on UNIX or linux. It runs on Windows XP SP2 or higher. It also
runs on Windows Vista.
It currently runs on
Windows XP with service pack 2 (SP2) and with Microsoft .Net
Framework version 2. or later. If you don't have Microsoft .Net Framework
version 2 (or later) on your PC, you'll be directed to Microsoft site where you
can download version 2 or the latest if you are
connected to the Internet. . In addition the application also requires MDAC which
is included in SP2 and it is preferable you have it installed with SP2 and then
you download updates from Microsoft site using Windows update service that comes
with Windows XP. When you run the application for the first time, it will check
whether you have Windows Media version 9 or above and download codecs for running
the media clip for the hymns.
You can get Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) from Microsoft's download site. You
can also search using any search engine for the phrase "Microsoft Windows XP Service
Pack 2 download".
The software also runs on Windows Vista.
You require 256 MB RAM or higher, a 1 GHz or higher Pentium IV Processor and
at least 50 MB of hard disk space. The application can run on a screen with 800
X 600 high color but 1024 X 768 high color or higher is recommended. (Internet Explorer
6 or higher is recommended for .NET Framework 2).
No. This software is not free. There is a nominal charge for usage after the trial
period given. The trial period is for you to determine whether the software is helpful
to you. If it is and you would like to continue using it, I request support for
my development effort in this and future products for the Kingdom of God. The hymns
are free - I don't charge anything for them. The effort in organizing them and
making them searchable and incorporating the tunes, etc. is what I have requested
support for. You can send me your favorite public domain hymns for incorporation
(if not already included) if you desire and I'll do it free of charge provided
there's no copyright infringement or you have obtained the right for publication
from the owners of the copyright.
Yes. Some of them will be given free depending on the effort expended in creating
them. For example if I add more public domain hymns at the same software version,
I will avail this to you at no charge if you request to be on a maintenance upgrade
cover.
This depends on your circumstances. If you want to install on many PCs, you can
copy the installation file on to a CD (or flash disk/ memory stick) which
you can use to install on the PCs. You can use
a download accelerator with autoresumption
If you are on a slow link.
If you are on a fast link
you can open the installation file directly from the download
site. I however prefer downloading a copy of the installation file in case I decide
to install it on another PC etc..
You need administrative rights to install
the software.
